Can I add a personal message?

Yes, and it sits inside the gift card itself rather than in a separate email. It costs nothing and there is no character limit that cuts a sentence short.

How do I give it if I want to hand it over myself?

Send it to your own address and pass it on yourself, printed, in a card or by messenger. On request we also send a printed card by post.

How long is the gift card valid?

3 years from purchase. So the recipient is under no time pressure, and you do not have to leave the purchase to the last moment.

Does a gift card not look thoughtless?

That depends on what it looks like. This one arrives in its own design with your message, and the recipient chooses among owner-run local businesses rather than landing in a generic online shop.
